Although getting funds to the right places is often difficult or impossible, in our case we see a simple straight line: find funds to support out project, spend these funds directly on children, these children enter a new community, they do real work in this community, members of the community benefit from the initial dollar spent, children benefit from their interaction with a new community, teachers are rewarded with students possessed by a newly broadened understanding of the world and their place in it, the granters of the initial dollar spent see a three-fold profit from their initial investment: teacher, student, community.
We are actively seeking support to replicate this project in the Spring of each coming year. Currently we need to raise $75,000 annually to support program expenses. Any funds donated will be matched by funds raised by the students, teachers and administrators.
As a program of DC LEVEE, a 501c3 non-profit organization created by New Orleans and Back program leaders and alumni to empower young people in becoming transformative leaders in their local and global communities, all donations to New Orleans and Back are tax-deductable.
